Blackwood Stables Training Track, Versailles, KY
GRW designed and provided construction administration for a six-furlong dirt training track for Blackwood Stables, a 350-acre horse training facility in Woodford County, KY. Accredited by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, the track has the capacity to train as many as a dozen Throughbreds at one time. The KHRC is an independent agency of state government charged with the responsibility of regulating the conduct of horse racing and pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing and related activities within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Blackwood Stables also has an accredited one-mile turf course, and a one-mile all-weather gallop. The campus also includes 41 one-acre turnout paddocks and 15 ten-acre-plus large turnout paddocks. Other services at Blackwood include comprehensive equine rehabilitation.
