Improvements are in store for customers of the Frankfort Plant Board (FPB) once the utility company’s new, GRW-designed, administration building is complete.
The new three-level, 46,000 SF administration building project will consolidate the Frankfort Plant Board’s administrative offices for accounting, human resources, management, IT, customer service, and dispatch.
In addition, facilities were provided for the Plant Boards' public customer service functions including payment service lines, exterior drive through tellers, product service representation, and board/community room. The FPB says it also intends to ensure local public transportation has access to the building.
The new facility also will include backup utility systems and a designated shelter area. The building facade will be constructed of primarily architectural precast concrete panels with design elements such as structural silicone glazing systems and aluminum panels.
GRW provided programming, planning and design services for its new consolidated administration building and associated 30-acre site.
In addition to water and electric service, the Frankfort Plant Board offers cable television, as well as business and resident security, broadband and telephone services for the city of Frankfort, KY, and surrounding areas.
