GRW has prepared site development documents for more than 50 Rite-Aid pharmacies in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia. Work included coordination with local Planning & Zoning, Public Works, utility companies and governing highway agencies; construction documents for site infrastructure including grading, utilities and stormwater management; acquisition of applicable permits; and stormwater pollution prevention plans.
A major component of the site work includes storm water management, often including the design of stormwater detention basins. In addition to detention, solutions have often encompassed innovative strategies including pervious pavements, rain gardens, and bioswales to minimize the stormwater impact to adjacent properties.
More than 15 of the Rite-Aid commercial sites included underground detention below the parking lot to facilitate optimum use of their sites. Underground detention facilities include chambers, HDPE pipe, corrugated steel pipe and reinforced concrete pipe.
