Physicians Mall New Canopy, Lexington, KY
GRW provided design and construction administration services for a new entrance canopy, as well as interior finishes renovation, for the Physicians Mall located in Lexington, KY.
The entrance canopies entailed construction of two 350-SF cantilevered canopies, accent lighting, and landscaping to the south and west of the existing facility. The canopy construction materials include cast-in-place, concrete canopy columns; a tube steel, cantilevered canopy structure; exposed, wood roof decking; and standing seam metal roof panels.
The interior renovation of the building, which was occupied during construction, consisted of new finishes for 5,000 SF of corridor space. Work included a new resinous floor finish system, wall trim and paint finishes, signage, open-cell grid ceiling system, suspended ceiling accent panels, suspended gypsum board ceiling clouds, and decorative light fixtures.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) was used in the design development and construction documentation phases of the project in order to provide visual representations of the project.
